In his "Power On" newsletter today, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reiterated his earlier report that iOS 19 will introduce a "more conversational" Siri powered by "larger, more advanced language models." This update will make Siri feel more like OpenAI's ChatGPT, allowing the assistant to "handle more sophisticated requests." Apple will likely unveil the new and improved Siri when it announces iOS 19 at WWDC 2025 this June, but Gurman said the feature won't be available before spring 2026. That suggests the new feature will arrive as part of the iOS 19.4 update. However, Gurman revealed in his newsletter that other planned features have been "pushed back" until iOS 19.4. "I'm told that a larger than usual number of features planned for iOS 19 (aside from the new Siri) have already been delayed until spring 2026 (when iOS 19.4 launches)," he wrote. For now, iOS 18.2 adds ChatGPT integration to Siri, and Gurman expects an integration with Google's Gemini to follow in a later update. Apple has already confirmed that iOS 18.2 will launch to the public in December. And with iOS 18.4, Siri will gain on-screen awareness, deeper per-app controls and some other improvements, but still won't offer full ChatGPT-like conversational abilities.
