Upcoming News
Apple continues its tradition of annually refreshing the MacBook Pro, and this year will be no exception. The highlight is the introduction of the new M5, M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, which promise modest performance improvements thanks to TSMC's 3nm process. However, those hoping for significant design changes will have to wait until late 2026, when a model with an OLED display and thinner design is expected.
Technical Details
The new M5 chips will be manufactured using TSMC's third-generation 3nm process, known as N3P. This technology is expected to bring modest improvements in energy efficiency and performance, but no revolutionary leaps are expected. Additionally, it's possible that the new models will support Wi-Fi 7, aligning with the iPhone 16 line specifications.
Market Impact
The delayed launch to early 2026 could influence consumer purchasing decisions, who may opt to purchase current models at attractive discounts. Offers on M4 models may become more appealing to those who don't want to wait for the new launch.
Future Outlook
The future of the MacBook Pro looks promising with the expectation of a significant redesign in 2026. The focus on OLED technology and a lighter design could redefine the premium laptop market. Until then, annual increments will continue to focus mainly on internal improvements.
