Flexbar: the new OLED controller
The Flexbar is a long, narrow OLED control strip that can be placed anywhere, including above the keyboard like the Touch Bar. It connects to the Mac via USB and appears to work in a similar way to the Touch Bar. It can also be used vertically, adapting to your workflow, and can be connected to iPads, iPhones and Windows PCs.Customisation and developer support
The Flexbar offers more customisation options than the Touch Bar ever did, and the company says it will offer API support for developers. There is also the Flexbar Designer app, which lets users customise the Flexbar's controls, as well as a Discord community for help and tips on tweaking the Flexbar.Fundraising and purchasing plans
It appears Eniac has already surpassed its fundraising target, even with 29 days left in the campaign, but it is still possible to make a pledge. Plans start at $119/£94, which includes the Flexbar, an aluminium stand and a 2-metre USB-C cable. The Kickstarter campaign ends on 2 January 2025. With the arrival of the Flexbar, users can continue to enjoy the functionality and customisation the Touch Bar offered, thanks to Eniac's innovation and commitment with this new technological solution.
