Frequently asked questions

Which data is removed?
The author, title, subject, keywords and creation date. The mark of the program that made the PDF turns generic. The page content stays the same.
Why does this matter?
A PDF often stores your name or the software you used. Share it and you can give that away without meaning to.
Does the PDF content change?
No. Only the document data is erased; the pages stay the same.
