Frequently asked questions
Does my data leave the device?
To measure speed, the test exchanges data with the Cloudflare network, the same one that serves this site. We measure only your connection; we keep neither the result nor personal data.
Is it as reliable as Speedtest or Fast.com?
We use Cloudflare's official engine, with several parallel connections, warmup and median, which is the basis of a serious test. The values are comparable; small differences between tests are normal, as they depend on the server and the moment.
What are ping and variation?
Ping is the time a request takes to go and come back, in milliseconds: the lower, the better for gaming and video calls. Variation (jitter) measures how much that time swings; low values mean a stable connection.
Why is it different from what my provider promises?
The contracted speed is the theoretical maximum. Here you measure the real speed right now, which depends on Wi-Fi, distance to the router, how many devices are connected and the time of day. For the highest value, connect the computer to the router by cable.
